Buñelos Aga, also known as Banana Donuts, is a delightful and easy-to-make dessert from CHamoru cuisine. The recipe calls for ripe bananas, flour, full cream milk, baking powder, and large eggs, creating a perfect balance of sweetness and savory flavor. The batter is fried until golden brown, resulting in a deliciously soft and fluffy donut. For an extra twist of indulgence, these donuts are topped with a rich chocolate ganache, made with milk (or half and half) and semi-sweet chocolate chips. Ingredients

  1. 3-4 ripe bananas
  2. 1 1/2 cup – flour
  3. 1/2 cup – full cream milk
  4. 1 tbsp – baking powder ‘
  5. 2 – large eggs

Ganache Ingredients:

  1. 1/2 cup milk or half and half
  2. 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, peel your bananas and, using a fork, smash them into small pieces.
  2. Add flour, baking, powder, eggs, and milk and mix well.
  3. In a pot, heat up your oil of choice. Using an ice cream scooper, scoop up batter and drop into oil, making sure not to overcrowd. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes or until golden brown each side. Set aside.
  4. For the ganache, in a separate pot, heat up half and half or milk until almost boiling. Put pot off heat and pour chocolate chips. Stir until smooth consistency and into a squeeze bottle once the ganache cools down.
  5. Top your banana donuts with the chocolate ganache. Serve and Enjoy!
